This is Sorghum. A drought resistant cereal grain originally from Africa, sorghum is farmed as a crop in the United States today. Sorghum is the world's fifth-most important cereal crop after rice, wheat, maize, and barley. Its lack of gluten makes it an ideal grain for individuals with celiac disease and gluten intolerance. It is the source for Sorghum Molasses, not be confused with conventional molasses which is refined from sugar cane.
